TEACHING
Karen’s first teaching post was flute teacher at Wells Cathedral School. From there she was quickly approached by Trinity College of Music to be one of their flute professors and then soon afterwards by the Royal Northern College of Music. Whilst she held both those teaching posts, she was also invited to be the flute consultant at the Royal Welsh College of Music and the Birmingham Conservatoire. In 2004, she was thrilled to be invited to teach at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she remains as flute professor to this day. Karen has also coached the National Youth Orchestra and London Schools’ Symphony Orchestra and is invited to give masterclasses all over the world, something she thoroughly enjoys doing. She is also in considerable demand as a private flute teacher and teaches from her home in Kent.
